Google Nexus 10, LG Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD 8.9, Asus Transformer Pad TF300, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 are among top Android tablets
Android has received a row of powerful tablets recently. The market is now more competitive than ever before. Microsoftâs Surface RT, iPad Mini and the new iPad 4 have significantly scalped up the competition. The new set of Android tablets will surely face burning challenge from these machines. Are you planning to buy a fresh Android tablet during the 2012 vacation season? If you wish or if you just want to know of the best Android tablets for the season, here is our list.
Google Nexus 7 â" 32GB
It is the newly upgraded higher storage version of Googleâs Nexus 7 tablet. Google initially brought us its Asus-made 7-inch tablet in two basic memory versions; 8GB and 16GB. Following the indifference of customers towards the 8GB version, Google produced a new version with double the memory of the tabletâs the then higher end edition. Anyway, price range still remains affordable with the 16GB version going for $199 and the 32GB version for $249.
Nexus 7 has created ripples in the small tablet segment with many outstanding features. The device is the first machine ever to run on a quad core processor, which is Nvidiaâs Tegra 3. And it also the first device to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which was recently updated by Google with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for the new Nexus 7 32GB, Nexus 10 and Nexus 4 devices.
To put it briefly, with a gorgeous screen, great performance, a relaxed design and nice media options, it is perhaps the best 7-inch tablet out there.
Google Nexus 10
Google this time contracted LG to put together its new Nexus handset called Nexus 4 in place of Samsung. It doesnât mean Samsung has lost a chance. The major Android product maker ever was actually given the task of building what the market would later call the real iPad-killing Android tablet, in other words Google Nexus 10. This matchlessly great Android tablet is coming with a 1.7GHz dual-core Exynos 5250 CPU and 2GB of RAM inside; plus it has a Mali T-604 as graphics processor.
Well, most reviewers have portrayed this 10-inch device as the real iPad alternative ever. We already have Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 from the Korean tech maker. Yet, Nexus 10 is amazingly superb with a marvelously sharper screen, light, durable body and faster processor.
To top it all, the device touts the same Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update that brings Photo Sphere, multiple accounts and many other stunning features. It is priced at $399 and is set for release on November 13.
Asus Transformer Pad TF300
Yet another brilliant Android tablet you can go for during the vacation season is Asusâ Transformer Pad. This 10.1-inch machine shows off all advanced features such as a quad core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and more. Thanks to the Tegra 3 processor, the Pad âgoes a step further [than its predecessor Prime] with a better rear camera, faster Wi-Fi performance, a more responsive screen, and an actual (and official) GPS feature,â says the CNET review.
It is further rich with microSD slot, microHDMI port and, of course an option for docking a keypad. You can pick a piece of the Transformer Pad for just $350 and the advanced version will come for higher prices, of course. It is indeed one of the best Android tablets we have in store.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
It is the tablet incarnation of Samsungâs market hit Note phablet. The 5-inch machine, which has given birth for the hot phablet segment, has now received a highly powerful 10.1-inch version. Needless to mention, the most wonderful attribute of the machine is its S-pen stylus that you can use to write text, draw shapes and solve many formulae quite instantly. The device is up with a 1.4GHz Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM and Ice Cream Sandwich. It comes for $650.
Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9
If you look forward to buy a full-fledged, large screen tablet eReader, the best option is none other than Amazonâs high-end Kindle Fire HD 8.9. It is built with a dual core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1GB of RAM and other rich specs. You have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and a front camera for the first time on Amazon Kindle Fire. It also has a 4G LTE version. It advanced with a highly skinned Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and you can grab it for just. The pricing goes like; Wi-Fi 16GB at $299 and 32GB at $499 and 4G LTE 32GB at $499.
